My parents were married 50 years in 2006. They were married at St Dominic’s Priory, Hampstead (north London) and spent their honeymoon in Bute, Cornwall! Amazing coincidences!!
ReplyDeleteDad was an Aussie; they came to Australia in 1957, and mum was "naturalised" in 1988!
Ooops! would have been polite if I'd wished the happy couple all the best! (sorry)
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for your lovely messages :-)
ReplyDeleteLynne my Dad was an Australian journalist going around the world when he met ran into Mum, who is English, at a party. You know the rest of the story!
Congratulations to your Mum and Dad. They are great photos, and I love your Mum's hat!
ReplyDeletegorgeous photo. what a good looking couple. your mum looks very pretty in her hat. 50 years is very special. congratulations to them. xo.
ReplyDeleteWOW, your parents are proper hotties, they look like movie stars :) Congrats!
ReplyDeleteStunning looking couple, wonderful to hear that couples can be married for 50 years, it shows the deepest love, understanding & friendship they both share. Most young couples these days wont be able to experience this milestone, because we tend to discard things when the going gets tough. The divorce rate is indicative of this trend.
ReplyDeleteYour parents are a very, very glamorous couple. They look like movie stars in that photo! Happy anniversary to them!
ReplyDeleteThey are the most wonderful looking couple aren't they. Romey stole all the family's best looks.
ReplyDeleteMost boastfully I must add that I took the photo, at Paddington Station. JIM W
