my creative space - block
I fitted in another session of block printing yesterday, playing around with colours and fabrics. Its amazing what you can do with a couple of hours, especially with blockprinting which makes it quick and easy to change colours.
I even made one tea towel (first picture matched with some fresh bright magenta borlotti beans I bought this week) it is in the shop.
My experiments with overprinting continue, I love the way the prism print looks with an overprinted and slightly offset white highlight, there's something wonderfully retro about it and it brings out the base colour so well.
I trimmed down my printing plate which made my registration much closer, but I've still retained the 'printiness' of the block printing method which is one of the things I really like about this method. If you missed my tutorial the link is over there on the left.
Next step is to make some of these fabrics up into cushion covers. At least one of them (not sure which yet!) is destined for my couch.
And I seem to have signed up to Cam's August Choose Your Own Bag Sewalong Adventure so I'd like to try printing enough to make a bag pattern I have saved in my Pinterest files...
